Celebration in Sri Lanka
Sinhala New year celebrated in Sri Lanka every Year in April. Sri Lankan people celebrated this from ancient time. According to the astrology Sun starts new circle in this period. Mostly its falls on 13th or 14th of April. During this auspicious time people do lots of religious activities. They are going to temple and worship to Buddha and Gods. It is a key cultural event in Sri Lanka and it has a unique routines to follow. Lots of sweets and foods are made during this period and lots of traditional foods are bond with this cultural event. This two days are holidays in Sri Lanka. All the members of the families get together and attend to this Sinhala and Hindu New year activities. People go to visit their grad parents, relatives and neighbours with a plate full of sweet foods or cakes.
All the members of families wears new cloths. They clean there houses. Mother or female elder in the house Boil Milk when the new year begin and wish blessings for their families during the new year. Young children blast fire crackers when new year begin. Small children plays with their friends.
